Lead protects people and the environment against unwanted radiation - in diagnosis and treatment, and in baggage screening at border crossings.

Rooms housing equipment that emits radiation must be shielded so that it does not pass to the outside. The required thickness of lead is calculated by a radiologist in the shielding design and given as a Pb equivalent in millimetres.
With that equivalent in hand we select the material: thin layers are done with foil, thicker ones with sheet, and where speed of construction matters, with lead-lined plasterboard.
A shield only works if it is continuous. Every gap at a board joint, every uncovered screw and every service penetration is a place where radiation passes through. That is why we supply not only the material but also the accessories for the joints - and carry out the installation if you wish.
The type of material, the thickness and the dimensions are enough. If you need a non-standard shape, send a drawing - we accept .dxf files and dimensioned sketches.
