WATERJET CUTTING OF LEAD SHEETS AND PLATES

WaterJet technology – lead cut to size, in any shape

We cut lead sheets and plates with a high pressure water jet (WaterJet). The process is contactless and runs cold – the material does not heat up, so there is no edge deformation, no burning and no internal stress. With lead, a soft metal that deforms easily, this is decisive for the quality of the finished part.

The technology cuts virtually any contour: straight lines, circles, arcs, bevels, mounting holes and openings for fittings or service penetrations. Cutting tolerance is +/- 1.0 mm and repeatability stays the same for a single piece and for a production run.

Own and customer supplied material

We cut from our own stock – lead sheets and plates from our standing offer – as well as from material supplied by the customer. Parts are made from a .dxf file (AutoCAD), a technical drawing or a dimensioned sketch. If you have no documentation, we will prepare the design on our side.

Applications

Waterjet cutting is used above all in the fit-out of X-ray and TMG rooms – permanent shielding, cut-outs for door frames, viewing windows, cable and ventilation penetrations. Beyond radiation protection we cut parts for industry and construction: ballasts, counterweights, washers, seals and technical covers of unusual shape.
